Honey Garlic Chicken
Want perfectly crisp, juicy leg quarters? Sear them on the stovetop before cooking them in the oven. The addition of honey and garlic in this recipe provides a sweet and sticky finish that seals in the flavor.

  • Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • (6) Chicken Leg Quarter
  • (to season) Salt and pepper
  • (2 tsp.) Garlic powder
  • (6) Garlic cloves, crushed
  • (1/3 cup) Honey
  • (1/4 cup) Chicken Broth
  • (2 tbsp.) Rice wine or apple cider vinegar
  • (1 tbsp.) Soy sauce
  • (1 tbsp.) Butter

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper and garlic powder; set aside.
  3. Heat a pan or skillet over medium high heat and melt butter. Sear chicken leg quarters, skin side down, until browned, about 3 minutes.
  4. Turn off the heat and flip skin side up. Place in oven and cook, 20 - 25 minutes, or until juices run clear and a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees.
  5. Remove chicken from pan. Drain most of the excess oil and fat from the pan, leaving about 2 tablespoons of pan juice for added flavor.
  6. Place pan back on the stove and turn heat to medium. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  7. Add the honey, broth, vinegar, and soy sauce. Increase the meat to medium-high and cook until the sauce reduces down and thickens slightly (about 3-4 minutes).
  8. Add chicken back to pan. Carefully spoon sauce over chicken. Garnish with parsley and serve over vegetables, rice, pasta, or with salad.
