Want perfectly crisp, juicy leg quarters? Sear them on the stovetop before cooking them in the oven. The addition of honey and garlic in this recipe provides a sweet and sticky finish that seals in the flavor.

- Cook Time:
- Servings: 6
Ingredients
- (6) Chicken Leg Quarter
- (to season) Salt and pepper
- (2 tsp.) Garlic powder
- (6) Garlic cloves, crushed
- (1/3 cup) Honey
- (1/4 cup) Chicken Broth
- (2 tbsp.) Rice wine or apple cider vinegar
- (1 tbsp.) Soy sauce
- (1 tbsp.) Butter
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Season chicken with salt, pepper and garlic powder; set aside.
- Heat a pan or skillet over medium high heat and melt butter. Sear chicken leg quarters, skin side down, until browned, about 3 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and flip skin side up. Place in oven and cook, 20 - 25 minutes, or until juices run clear and a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees.
- Remove chicken from pan. Drain most of the excess oil and fat from the pan, leaving about 2 tablespoons of pan juice for added flavor.
- Place pan back on the stove and turn heat to medium. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the honey, broth, vinegar, and soy sauce. Increase the meat to medium-high and cook until the sauce reduces down and thickens slightly (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add chicken back to pan. Carefully spoon sauce over chicken. Garnish with parsley and serve over vegetables, rice, pasta, or with salad.
