Lard is rich in many vitamins and minerals, especially vitamins B and D. In fact, it's one of the best ways to access Vitamin D in our food. It's also higher in omega-3 fatty acids with a better omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acid ratio.

Lard has a high smoking point, so it's ideal for for any high-temperature cooking, including frying, grilling, and searing.

Lard is also odorless and tasteless when rendered properly, so you can use it in sweet or savory recipes without imparting extra flavor. Use it for flaky pie crusts, amazing brownies and cookies, and perfectly roasted vegetables and meat. You can substitute it 1:1 for butter, olive oil, or any other cooking fat.

Tip: This lard is shelf-stable. You can leave it out on the counter or store it in the fridge. It lasts for well over a year (although it goes pretty quickly in our household!) Just don't freeze it!
